call of duty 1 is a classic and i still love it but im gonna have to go with cod4, great and epic single player missions and awesome online multiplayer, you cant go wrong with modern warfare, though you might wanna wait for modern warfare 2

Personally I'm a big fan of CoD 4 since I used to play that with a sizable group of friends on Xbox LIVE, never played any of them on PC, if you're going to get one though I'd recommend waiting to see what Modern Warfare 2 is like...

CoD4 was really good and my favorite at the moment. Liked the single player storyline and enjoy the online multiplayer.

i've played tons and tons of cod 1 and 2. i think they took a turn for the worse with uav, dogs, helicopters, and all that. I prefer a level playing field. No weapon upgrades or anything. |

best part of cod4 without giving away much is when you are being chased by a crashing helicopter
