I'll just post what I posted on FB cause I'm tired from cleanin... Today, at 1am, I went in the basement to grab a soda. I walked into almost 2 inches of water. My basement was flooded and I had to wake my parents up and help them clean up for the past hour and a half. FML. So I've been helping wetvac + move large furniture out of my gma's (mother in law apt attached to house) bottom floor. I'm taking a break right now until more big stuff needs to be moved. Anyone else get flooded last night? Shark?

That really sucks, I live in an apartment building so its not that bad. but the past few days in NY were raining terribly..worst of all I was taking my finals so I had to run home in the damn pouring rain. Good luck Cloud and hope nothing got seriously damaged.

Well I live on the 4th floor so the only thing I got was the leak in the ceiling from around a skylight. There certainly were a lot of new lakes in the neighborhood though. I'm guessing the mosquitos must be just horrrible in WI by now... I'm scared to go to WI

We didnt get flooded with the storms up in northern WI, but oh yeah the mosquitoes are terrible right now but we just have to use some deep woods off with 40% deet to keep them away.

Yeah nothing damaged too bad, just a lot of drying up the mess + moving shit around to get to the carpet. Rec room smells moldy now but I'm sure it'll go away. I'm glad I never moved my computer equipment into the basement, although my room gets boiling hot with 2 computers and 2 ppl in there *ugh* can't win lol. I think I'm going to have to purchase a window mounted A/C unit or somethin.

My parents' basement flooded a few years ago in Madison and my mother spent days/weeks cleaning stuff up as they had tons of stuff stored there. After a while she started coughing everytime she exhaled. The diagnosis was some very devious mold had attacked her respiratory system and she coughed like that for months... cannot even imagine the discomfort. Imagine the hiccups for 2 months straight!!! I guess it was because the cleanup was done slowly, the mold had lots of time to grow. My suggestion, get fans going down there and do whatever you can to get it dry FAST.
