I really want to be able to say American cars are best and buy American. The thing is, my parents buy American and one of their cars is usually in the shop. It's a real shame the US corporate big wigs chose not to learn from the strengths of certain foreign auto makers. And of course they aren't suffering from their choices - it's always those working their hinds off who pay. That being said, I'm not loving that we now have Government Motors.

Funny how many people I'm now seeing driving Solstices...a sweet looking car, and there won't be any more.

Yeah it would be nice if American cars were good again. Although I hear Ford is coming back, they're currently selling the most cars in america right now.

You need a Fiat Panda so you can turn it into a limousine.

Haha.
Never had an issue with my Ranger. Besides the scratch my father put on the door D:< Other than that nothing. As a family we've owned 1 Ford Aerostar 1 Plymouth minvan 2 Ford minivans 1 Ford Explorer Sport Track 1 Pontiac Montana and a Ford Taurus. (plus my moms 2 Honda Accords, 2 BMW's and the current Mercedes Benz C63. Never had an issue with any of the cars except for the BMWs. GM has sucked for ages. They supplied engines to the Nazi's. The only reason I allow my father to have that Pontiac is because it's a company car.

PS. Hossa Signed with Chicago. I lol'd hard.
Same with the Gomez (Blowmez) trade. Epic lols

Where's the "Honda" and "toyota" options? Seriously, if you want a car that will be reliable & last (and not give you a mini heart attack when you fill up), buy one of those. And, since those brands are very popular (honda civic: best selling car in Canada, wonder why...) parts are plentiful/cheap. I know you "should" buy American and all to support the workers, but it's their fault they decided to work at such poor quality companies (sigh I can hear the angry replies being typed out now) and your quality of life shouldn't be degraded by that. Yes I know there's only so many jobs around but I'm sure the workers can grow up, write up a resume, and go get themselves hired somewhere else (is toyota hiring? :P), no the wages might not compare, but they had it ridiculously good (compared to other auto companies) working at the big 3, and that was one of the contributing factors to 2/3 of those companies going bankrupt.

Anyways, Japanese automakers all the way

Yes. 20 years ago when my uncle decided to get a job at Chrysler we TOTALLY saw all this happening.

No one did, but people have known the quality was low for a long, long time, and it was only so long before a/multiple superior product(s)/manufacturer(s) came on the scene, and consumers started voting with their wallets. Free market capitalism sucks, eh?

Anyways, my vote: Honda civic, toyota camrey, accord if you can afford it.

How can you blame the workers for getting a job at the plants here. They're everywhere here. You can't say "It's their fault for working there" They went where they could get work. So saying it's their fault is just fucking stupid.

I think we can all agree Stick > Auto.

Unless you're too uncoordinated to clutch. :P

Considering the economy, you're lucky you can find a job anywhere, even if it's for a some company you hate. My employer just let a bunch of people go, and I know several people who have been unemployed several months now.
