Default What car should i get?

ok so on my way home from creation my car starting acting up and long story short the transmission may be shot or coming to an end and my dad said i might have to get another car, well i was looking at a bunch of cars but im most fond of these three

BMW

Eclipse sadly its manual and i havent learned manual but im sure i can

Lancer
sadly its manual and i havent learned manual but im sure i can

im more leaning towards the eclipse only cuz its cheaper and as i go into college it would be easier to have lower payments on it and of the 4 friends ive asked 3 said go for the eclipse and the other said the Evo but what one do you guys/girls think i should get?

How much is each? The BMW can't be cheap and if it is, it's really been used. My guess is the Lancer might be better on gass.

Here's an idea. BUY AMERICAN.

If something goes wrong with the beemer have fun paying for it, and manual isn't as easy as you think. I tore up a transmission before I learned how to do it right.

Go with the Evo.

Or BUY AMERICAN.

What? What!?! BMWs are my favorite type of cars, they are oooohh so sexy and they run great. The lancaster, I mean, what does it mean to "cast lan"? As for the eclipse, you're 6'4 you're not gonna fit in that car.

I didn't want to double quote the same people twice, but Evan made me do it. The best cars are not made in america rather the Japanese cars break down less and are the best auto makers in the world along side with German automakers. Well la de da I didn't know that the Japanese making better cars got my uncle back on the line. Or my other uncle, or my friends father, or my other friends father, or pretty much everyone here in Windsor. The auto capital of Canada. You know how many people are fucked out of jobs right now because you people keep buying your damn ricers. Sure my mother drives a Mercedes Benz I however drive an 08 FORD Ranger and my father drives a 08 Pontiac Montana.

PS. BMW's look generic, You're paying for a name. I know. My parents owned 2. I like the Benz we have much better than the BMWs we had.

And LANCER. Lancer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Sheesh.

Not saying I would go out and buy one for a (in my case) a first car or even a second it would be more along the lines of when I get older and wanted a nicer car.

Try driving a BMW man. I tore the tranny on one (my bad) But on the 99 BMW 323i we had the engine fucked out on us even when it was in good condition. The brand new 07 BMW 330i we had had issues when we traded it back into the dealership when we traded in for our benz.

The 90's BMW's have had the same issues as the 90-96 Jaguars did. Just less well known.

BMW's are awesome if you don't mind paying for a valve adjustment every other oil change....If a beemer jumps timing it is all bad....they are high interference engines, meaning that the valves actually enter the combustion chamber as the piston is driven down. If you break or jump a timing chain/ belt say goodbye to your valves and about 3 grand. Besides, the BMW you posted looks like it belongs to a 18 year old girl.

Personally, I am in the process of buying a VW GTI. ( 1.8L I4 Turbo) 32 MPG German engineering is among the best in the world as far as cars are concerned. I recommend a few other cars....VW GTI or Jetta, Subaru WRX, also Accords and Civics will give you some good mileage. (but are far less awesome.....) I am kinda picky though and don't really think that high mileage (75k+) cars are worth the risk. If you want my help, feel free to ask and I can try to find a car for you.

Evan, did you actually destroy the tranny or just burn out the clutch? Clutches are easy, and I doubt you chewed through a tranny that fast. Oh yeah...I also drive a Ranger right now and it is a fucking tank! It has just under 300k miles on the same engine and is still running strong . You can't kill the damn thing...

I'm not sure what I did. I just know I payed 2500 to have it fixed xD

I have this huge gripe with VW Golfs because that's what i use in drivers ed and the damn thing is touchy. But that's probably because it's a drivers ed car.
I've always loved the Jetta ever since The Fast and the Furious
