Rock Vs. Rap

I personally am a fan of the rock genre as opposed to rap. It annoys me to see that one person who has enough skill to talk fast about drugs, sex, booze, gangs, and money is able to collect millions from teenagers who somehow think it's cool. Whereas rock bands of generally three or more members require that everyone has the talent to not sound horrible while playing at the same time. Musicianship is most clearly evident in the metal genre, where aside from loudness, multiple guitars, drums, and a singer, there are no rules.

Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Trivium.

Lil Wayne. More people. Not too familiar with rap artists.

I do have a preference for rock over most things, classic rock btw.

However, I do own a rap song...Stronger by Kanye West. It's the only rap song I like so far and the only reason is because he covered one of my favorite bands, Daft Punk.

Me being from the bronx i grew up listening to rap ( hip-hop ) all the times. You have rappers like will will smith who does not curse in his records and many others like run-dmc ( my favorite rappers of all times )

But i pick trance music over rap anytime.

I hate rap... In my town those who listen to rap usually are extremely... how do I say this... stupid.
I listen to allot of genres... except for Rap and Country.

I like all types of good music including classical music. There are 1 or 2 rap songs I admit to thinking were good but for the most part country and rap are ones I try to do anything to not listen too.

My main dislike of rap and hip hop comes from the fact that there are quite a few rap artists out there that are involved in criminal activities such as shootings etc. To see these people out of jail , earning big bucks from endorsements and being idolized by millions makes me sick.

Rock. I listen to some rap, but I like rock a lot more.
For the record: Iron Maiden is the best band ever IMO

i like alittle bit of everything. i like rock alot better. i agree with udders on this one but the same can be said for football players or at least the mn vikings there always in jail for something.

I don't really listen to either genre, but I prefer rock to rap. I'd have to agree with Udders, I'm sick of seeing artists get away with anything, and still make a lot of money due to the publicity.

Well, I live where a lot of rap and hip-hop and stuff are played over Rock. . . But I vote Rock over rap and hip-hop. I just don't like rap. Rock FTW xDD

I love rock. Rock is amazing. I listen to a lot of Christian rock and stuff. It's pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie.

But then I also listen to stuff like Iron Maiden.

Although, behind the crazy little child I am, I've got a peaceful side. I adore classical music. I love stuff with orchestras, or acoustic guitars, or pianos. I love writing music for different instruments too.

And I've got to agree with Udders as well.
