Default Random Crits, off or on?

ok so im getting tired of putting 2 rockets into an enemy soldier and he turns around and crits me randomly and all that so i wanna see how many people hate the random crits, we might turn them off every now and then depending on what results we get here

when i say random crits i mean the... well random crits. we would keep the crits for weapons that are suppose to crit, these being:

Axtinguisher when enemy is on fire
KGB after getting a kill
Kritzkrieg effect
Jarate's mini crits
Headshots (Sniper rifle and huntsman)
Ambassadors Headshots
Backstabs
10 Seconds of crits after cap
Crits for winning team

Moron I can go either way on this, I understand where you are comin from but if it is on or off either way is ok by me, but if you want a definitive answer then I would say every now and then go ahead and turn em off.

I like random crits, but if we do turn them off you forgot the "Kal's Minigun" option on that list of crit-approved guns

A little bit of random is good for the game. It helps keep the skill vs noob balanced out relatively well. Keep them, I say!

Vanilla server. Crits fall under that category.

im sorry but it is part of the game, period end of story. if we take away random crits then we have to find a way to eliminate phantom backstabs from the front, after all thats is the same as a crit. Its part of the game, deal with it and enjoy playing

No Crit Server?

This has already been discussed to some length, with apparently the same conclusion.

thank you sprocket for being one of the only open minded/people who actually read what i posted. i said we wouldnt have them off permenantly we would just some VOTES to turn them off in game every once in awhile but either way admins dont have the ability to turn them off it has to be done by the owner of the server, nightlinks so this wouldnt be able to work anyways

feel free to lock the topic night/jack

if that was the intention i missed it. If we were going to do something like a once and a while thing, then i think it should be on a "special" weekend

we had a fun maps weekend, mabey have an "alternate config" weekend where you mess with the crit on / off, friendly fire, mabey gravity... any of those. Reason being people joining would know what is up

The name of the vote is misleading moron, it's like evan/verge's no timer votes way back. My statement stands either way of course , but if you're going to do a vote like that you'd either have to have an overwhelming majority when the servers full or you'd have to wait for it to be nearly empty like when we initiate an all-talk vote; at least that's the way I'd treat it

friendly fire would be the worst idea in tf2s history

i would rage the first time a friendly pyro spy checked me

I would think it would be fine to turn crits off from time to time. Its not like the server is vanilla all the time. In fact lately its been melee only and custom maps.

Dawkins got a point there...maybe we should get an admin command where so we can vote for it when we feel like there should be no crits and if the vote answers yes then well yea..turn em off for the game.

I like the random crits, nothing is better than punching an on-coming W + M1 pyro. I can see where the idea of getting rid of the random crits can come in... but I still don't think its as bad as a winning team coordinating 10 seconds of crits.

Pyro flames have no friendly fire.
Anyways..

I agree and disagree with Moron. This is why I think they should be off:
-Backstabs look awesome (Yes, take backstabs off the list. :P)
-I hate how lucky they are at times. Some days it seems like some people never stop getting crits.
-Chasing someone for what seems like the longest time, then turning around and being crit in the face. (Actually, this usually happens without crits, also...)
-I just believe it's a lot more about how well you can aim rather than how well you've been doing.
-Some people do really well, therefor they get higher crit chances. More crits means killing more people. If they were great before, they would be unstoppable with those high crit chances.
-Fucking... crit.... wrenches... (and ubersaws wtf)
-Every time I get a crit, it seems to miss.. Lol what's the point. D:

But I have to admit that crits do make the game a little more interesting, especially with the melee weapons. My opinion on this would be to turn them off every so often, then turn them on another time.

since I have yet to way in on this I will now.
I personally would be fine with them being turned off once in a while but I would preffer it be announced ahead of time so people would know what they are getting into.
That being said I would preffer them be on but I really don't care if they are or not. it's just not a big of a deal to me.
