6 of one

either way the point is make sure your fully cloaked before you act. Its better to run out of cloak in the field than to be seen right off the bat, because then people know there is a spy around

true, and make sure NO ONE sees you cloak/uncloak, as they will go WAY out of their way to track your ass down for the kill.

ALSO AS A SPY, your revolver owns. Use it to kill once your cover is blown. The butterknife is not a frontal assault melee weapon.

Boy, did I learn those two the hard way.

Yes, the knife is useful for surprise attacks, just like the dev's meant it to be.

That revolver is a pretty stinking good piece of equipment when used correctly.

More Tips for snipers:
Do not stay in scope when counter-sniping. Your head will be gone before you can aim. Go for quick headshots.
Always go for other snipers first:A dead sniper is a useless sniper. The exception is when shooting the enemy intelligence. That of course takes priority.
Headshots, seems obvious but many snipers go for body shots.
Be close enough to the front that you can do damage, but not so close that you get pyro rushed. (I know i snipe from sewer entrance but thats stupidity."
The smg sucks. I like the machete.
The sniper can be surprisingly good at close range. Nothing feels better than getting a snap headshot on a scout coming straight at you.
When facing a heavy medic rush, kill the heavy first. What will that medic be able to do on hid own? unless of course he has an uber ready.
You only need to charge your scope to kill heavies, soldiers, demos, and pyros, all other classes will die with one quick shot to the face.
KILL ORDER>(Any class with intel)>sniper>Medic(when not healing some heavy on his own or when he has an uber)>spies>Soldier>demo>Pyro>Heavy>Scout>Engineer .
Sniper requires the most twitch skill, while not the most overall skill.
No mercy, no remorse.
Sniper is credit to team.
If this is redundant with cloud's im sorry, didnt read his before i posted

Wasn't redundant, and actually added most of the stuff I figured I'd add later.. though depending on your base defense, I'd move some of the priorities around (scout is useless if you have base D, and an engi in your intel room is extremely dangerous) but in general it's pretty accurate.

I'll regret this later, but some of the biggest counter-sniper maneuvers are extremely easy to pull off.

Demomen can shoot stickies over the fence side of the battlements all the way to the enemy battlements. Also lots of things can be shot up from the water onto the sniper deck (although it lets other people know you're down there, and I'll sure as hell come chop you up w/ my big knife... which is also a good reason to put stickies in the water in case someone drops down on you... dammit I'm gonna die a lot now.)

Any time I am crossing the bridge with a non-sniper class, I shoot at the enemy sniper deck (even when they're not aiming at me.) A simple pistol blast can cause a missed headshot or allow a rocket to finish off that sniper that would've lived. This is especially true for scouts crossing over the top of the bridge... there is no reason for you to be simply running, shoot that mofo in the face while you charge him.

The SMG really does suck, so watch out for the inevitable machete to the face. Try to stay just out of melee and rock the sniper from there. If you back up too far, you can easily get no scoped or even give them enough time to zoom in on your head (especially in sewers.)

Do NOT jump in a straight line on the bridge. It makes your head that much easier to hit, as it's that much closer to the sniper (looks huge if you see someone else do it, glad you noticed Junction ) Straight lines are bad enough, but jumping is worse. Try to RANDOMLY zigzag and do small hops. I love watching players just walk straight into my dot on the bridge though...

That should be enough tips for now.. already feel like I'm going to die more just typing this >.<

Tips For Spy:

Never pick a disguise that slows you down, even the demoman does SLIGHTLY, so anything else usually does it. I usually disguise as spy for a few reasons, an important one is that you will much more rarely have to worry about people seeing you with their name unless they're spy. And never rely much on your disguise, rely on your cloak primarily, kill a few enemy's, come back to base get health and ammo even if you're just missing a little, and in that time period your cloak is usually full or half way by then.

Well, I know one tip for spy:

If you retreated to the resupply and don't have enough cloak, switch classes and switch back, this refills your cloak.

I suppose another tip is to use doorways and heights to your advantage, and to use as much practice as much time using the revolver as possible, then pyros being a threat to your spying "adventure" are cut in half

Question for the snipers.

Do you twitch kill (quickly move your scope to the head and fire) or do you draw your bead across and fire?
