| ok so lately i have been having steam issues... shuts off my internet blah blah blah well now its just to update the platform while logging in and freezes and shuts down my internet at 30% and now i cant get on steam at all.... anyone know the problem?

| Did you put in a steam support ticket / read the official forums? Apparently my computer has downloaded (and supposedly applied) the Jan 5th update 3x now... so I don't know what's up with that either, but it's not a big enough deal to worry about. If nothing else there's always a rebuild (good reason to keep your windows partition separate from everything else.) |

| I didn't say that was the answer, I said that may be a final resolution (which may or may not fix your problem...) The first thing I asked was did you put in a support ticket / check the steam forums for any similar bugs/solutions. |

| thanks cloud i did what the support said and didnt work... im scanning for virus' now with avg and spybot s&d and so far they found quite a lot of shit hopefully itll fix it =(

| General fixes-everything solution is delete winui.gcf (in steamapps/) and clientregistry.blob. Might fix some steam-related issues. However, it may be an issue with your windows install/firewall. |

| uh oh i uninstalled steam and reinstalled it and now it still doesnt work and i dont have a steam apps folder... EDIT: YES! ok after spybot was done i tried logging into steam and it worked now i just gotta wait for avg... which takes forevvverrrrr =(
