Default Halp!! with some mobo and ram concerns

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2 LGA 1156 Intel P55 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

The mobo I'm gonna get.

Newegg.com - CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 - Desktop Memory

Ram I wanna get.

Problem(?): the mobo specs don't mention compatibility with DDR3 1600 ram. Which the ram I listed is. mobo specs only mention DDR3 2200/1333/1066/800.

AnandTech: Budget Micro-ATX P55 Faceoff: Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 and ASRock P55M Pro

But in this review, they didn't use ram standards listed in mobo specs. they used DDR3 2000 & 2133.

Am I mistaken in thinking I can't use 1600?

(hope it makes sense. Sorry if it doesn't)

Update: I searched around a bit more and found my malfunction.

If it's not listed I wouldn't try it.

Email someone from newegg and ask if you need to.

thanks for the advice evan. I actually found my answer after I researched a bit more after I posted this. It would've been a smooth ride had my processor been i7. but since its an i5, I would have to overclock it to allow the memory to hit 1600.

until then, the ram defaults at 1333. Hopefully this info may help someone else out if they too are confused by it all.
