do you use skype?

I'm downloading it right now to check it out. I saw a nice handset they have on their website to use with their service. I saw that they have an unlimited US & Canada calling plan for $2.95 a month. I'm wondering if I can replace my home phone with skype and save a couple of dollars a month.

Do you use skype paid subscription? How's the sound quality does it match a home phone or is it better?

Right now I'm using optimum voice that I make calls over the internet just like skype service.

I use Skype for computer to computer chatting. It kicks ass.

On their website it says that is not a replacement for home phone because of the no ability to make emergency calls.

The sound quality is good?

The main draw back with skype is their pricing , yes its 2.95 Euros ( possibly same in dollars ) for unlimited calls to US numbers etc but they dont make it clear that if anyone wants to ring you who doesnt have Skype then you have to buy an online number too which works out at 50 Euros a year.

So for 2.95 it wont replace your house phone unless you just want to make calls with it , if you want to receive calls from someone like say your mom or whoever and they dont have skype then its going to cost more per month.
