I was just playing counter strike source and all of a sudden the game crashed and the screen turned black. I could not get the the screen back to windows even hitting control alt delete a few times didn't do nothing.
I'm not sure if it is a driver issue because the other day i was playing TF2 with no problems. The only thing i did to my system was update the video drivers and downloaded from windows updates.

I'm hoping you checked the offical css forums, along with whatever video card manufacturer you have (nvidia or ati, as evan stated) as usually if one person has a problem a bunch of people are having it and more than likely a solution is already documented. That being said, either of those updates could have easily fucked something up for you, you could always do a system restore (assuming you have them turned on) to before you installed the updates, reapply one or the other and reattempt to play the game. This would allow you to figure out which specific update is causing the issue and start from there.

I just know Nvidias latest driver update fucked with a whole lot of my games. Audiosurf and FarCry 2 to name a few.
