How to advertise your game server

You read [CS:S] How to populate your game server but you are still not getting any players into the server. Advertise the server by telling friends and posting the server IP in gaming forums. Read the forum rules and see what their policies are about adverting before you post your server IP. Adverting in forums where it is not allowed can get your account banned.

When posting say that you just got a new server and you need people to help you populate it. Don't say something like "come join my server because it is the best."

Another good thing to post is where the server is hosted from like if it's from chicago put that in the post also how many slots the server has and other small details.
